Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Irenicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Reefer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irenicus comes to the cage accompanied by Shadows of Amn. Jim Reefer is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irenicus tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Reefer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
It looks like Jon Irenicus has been cut.
Reefer scores with a jab to the jaw.
Irenicus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Reefer.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reefer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Irenicus darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Reefer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Irenicus has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reefer but great work by Irenicus.

Irenicus is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Irenicus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Reefer is trying to control Irenicus's posture but Irenicus avoids it.

Irenicus remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Reefer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Irenicus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Irenicus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Reefer is trying to control the position but Irenicus postures up.
Irenicus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reefer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Reefer thuds his right hand into Irenicus's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Irenicus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reefer feints and then cracks Irenicus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Irenicus down.
Irenicus loads up on a big right hand but Reefer slips the punch.
