The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbeet throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Jenkins counter with a right hand.


It looks like Horacio Vanderbeet has been cut.
Jenkins has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Vanderbeet is landing a low percentage of strikes.

We've been hearing good reports from Vanderbeet's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jenkins is looking for the choke from the back position but Vanderbeet is controlling his hands well.
Vanderbeet manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jenkins's guard. Nice work there by Vanderbeet.
Vanderbeet postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jenkins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vanderbeet defends it easily.
Jenkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jenkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vanderbeet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.

Vanderbeet pulls Jenkins in close to prevent any damage.
Jenkins postures up and lands a big shot to Vanderbeet's brow.
Vanderbeet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jenkins is one step ahead there.
Jenkins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Vanderbeet looking for a triangle here. Jenkins is fighting it but it looks tight! Vanderbeet pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jenkins is tapping out - this one is all over!
