PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boogie Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seijuro Akashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boogie Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seijuro Akashi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akashi tries to clinch up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Knight.
Knight has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Contenders in the buildup to the fight.
Knight scores with a nice head shot.
Akashi walks into a jab.
Akashi shoots in for a double leg but Knight sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Knight thumps Akashi with a low kick.
Akashi tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Akashi misses with a low kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Akashi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Knight has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Knight and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Knight jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Akashi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Akashi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Knight chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That kick from Knight tenderised Akashi's leg. Akashi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Akashi fails with the takedown.
Akashi takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Akashi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Seijuro Akashi has been cut.
Knight lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Knight connects with an inside leg kick.
Knight avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whack! Knight lands a heavy head kick that drops Akashi. The ref tackles Knight to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Akashi was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Boogie Knight!
