The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from DaCoca as Matthews shoots in.
Matthews goes for a double leg but DaCoca avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as DaCoca continues to drive forward.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Matthews.
DaCoca is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Matthews with a body shot.

DaCoca looks to score with a jab to the body but Matthews is just out of range.

Matthews displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as DaCoca throws out the jab.
It looked like Matthews was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from DaCoca.
DaCoca buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
DaCoca throws a leg kick but Matthews sees it coming and checks it nicely.
DaCoca jabs Matthews right on the nose. Matthews blinks but takes it well.

Matthews is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in DaCoca's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

DaCoca makes his way to full guard. A much better position for DaCoca.

DaCoca wants to stand up but Matthews is controlling him.

Matthews thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

DaCoca holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Matthews tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Matthews lands a big shot there that rocks DaCoca but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
DaCoca manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
Matthews prevents DaCoca from improving his position.

Matthews seems to be looking for submissions.
Matthews stalling away here and it's allowed DaCoca to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

DaCoca regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Matthews.

DaCoca throws a front kick aimed at Matthews's knee but Matthews avoids it well.
DaCoca fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Matthews has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fighters circling - DaCoca throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

DaCoca throws an uppercut from hell that sends Matthews clean off his feet! He's out cold! DaCoca stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
