PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kamy Studinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Kampemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kampemann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: pretty enough. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Martin Kampemann was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kamy Studinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Martin Kampemann!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampemann avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kampemann ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Studinski tries to close the distance and clinch but Kampemann swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Studinski wants to clinch up but Kampemann keeps it at a distance.
Kampemann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Studinski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kampemann throws out a loose jab but Studinski uses good head movement to avoid it.
Studinski slips a jab and a cross from Kampemann.
Studinski tries to clinch but Kampemann is having none of it.
Kampemann doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Studinski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Studinski gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kampemann gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Kampemann is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kampemann looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kampemann keeps the fight on the outside.
Studinski fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kampemann with the counter takedown but Studinski avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Studinski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Studinski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kampemann manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Studinski moves in looking to clinch but Kampemann pushes him off.
Studinski wants to clinch up but Kampemann keeps it at a distance.

Studinski has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kampemann turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kampemann manages to end up in side control.

Kampemann decides to stand back up.
Studinski takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fight stays on the outside here - Studinski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Studinski clinches.
Studinski lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kampemann backwards.
Studinski throws a head punch that misses.

Kampemann gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Studinski keeping moving, preventing Kampemann from controlling successfully.
Kampemann must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kampemann prevents Studinski from getting back to his feet.
Studinski is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at TIGER MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Kampemann looking to sit in guard and control but Studinski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kampemann working for a triangle but Studinski defends it easily.
Kampemann wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kampemann has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Studinski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kampemann pushes a forearm under Studinski's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Studinski is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Martin Kampemann!
