Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Zen Yi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Forrest Dump!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dump moves out of range of the leg kick from Yi.
Dump throws a low kick but Yi avoids it.
Dump on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dump throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A jab from Dump finds it's way through Yi's defenses.
Dump ducks under a wild hook from Yi.
We've been hearing reports that Yi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Yi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dump.
Yi misses with a head kick.
Dump scores with a kick to the body.
Dump lands a nice shot that snaps Yi's head back.
Dump throws the left hand but Yi avoids the punch easily.
A leg kick checked by Yi.
Yi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Yi with a poor takedown
enabling Dump to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yi cracks the inside of Dump's front leg.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dump throws a low kick but Yi moves out of range easily.
Yi thumps Dump with a low kick.
Yi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dump.
Dump works the jab nicely.
Yi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dump bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yi's head.
Yi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Yi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Dump checks the leg kick nicely there.
Dump steps in with a hook that catches Yi right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Dump follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Yi looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Forrest Dump!
After winning the bout, Forrest Dump thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
