PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hilmar Halldorsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trujillo has chosen 2Pac - Hit Em Up as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trujillo closes the distance looking to clinch

Halldorsson won't allow Trujillo to get back to his feet.
Halldorsson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Trujillo's guard.

Halldorsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Trujillo manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Halldorsson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Halldorsson shoots in looking for a takedown. Trujillo tries to sprawl out of it but Halldorsson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Trujillo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I was talking to Halldorsson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

A very excited looking Abel Trujillo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
