Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Micheal Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miles Davis!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses with an uppercut.
Alvarez fires out a quick counter leg kick but Davis just manages to avoid it.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Davis!
It looks like Micheal Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Holding Cell in the buildup to the fight.
Miles Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A slapping leg kick lands for Alvarez.
A solid leg kick lands there for Alvarez.
Davis jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Davis misses the jab.
Davis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alvarez.
Davis misses with a double jab.
Davis takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarez misses with a body kick.
Alvarez lands with a kick to the ribs.
Alvarez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis lands with a right hand.
Davis scores with a jab to the head.
Davis takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Davis crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Alvarez - the referee stops the clock and Davis gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Alvarez. Davis manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Alvarez lands a big head kick that sends Davis tumbling to the mat! Alvarez takes a step backwards and waves Davis back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Davis is rocked!
It looks like Miles Davis has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davis throws a poor cross that misses
and Alvarez makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Davis really felt that one!
Davis looks winded!
Alvarez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Alvarez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Davis.
Alvarez moves into the clinch.
Alvarez gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Davis has had enough of the clinch but Alvarez keeps him there for the moment.
Alvarez lands an elbow inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez is pushing Davis up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Davis takes an elbow to the forehead.
Davis is still on wobbly legs! Can Alvarez finish him?
Alvarez throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Alvarez throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Davis dodges an elbow strike from Alvarez.
Davis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Alvarez has him pressed against the ropes.
Alvarez looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Davis tries to circle away but Alvarez has him pinned against the ropes.
Davis seems to have recovered his senses.
Alvarez lands an elbow just above Davis 's eye.
Alvarez lands an elbow that stopped Davis in his tracks for a moment.
That has opened up Miles Davis's cut even more.
Alvarez pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Davis! Alvarez unloads with more strikes and Davis sinks to his knees! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Micheal Alvarez!
Micheal Alvarez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
