Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meguru Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takayanagi has chosen now as his entrance music. Ryan Thompson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Meguru Takayanagi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Takayanagi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thompson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Thompson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Thompson throws a head kick but Takayanagi moves out of range.
Takayanagi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Thompson throws a sloppy head kick

and Takayanagi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Takayanagi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily.

Takayanagi is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thompson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
