The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edilhson throws a head kick but McQuade moves out of range.
McQuade avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big left from McQuade misses.
Edilhson moves in looking to clinch but McQuade pushes him off.
Edmundo Edilhson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edilhson takes a swing at McQuade's ribcage but misses.
McQuade motions for Edilhson to come forward. McQuade throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
McQuade throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
McQuade lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Edilhson circles away quickly and effectively.
McQuade misses with a low kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McQuade has a couple of punches blocked by Edilhson.
Edilhson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McQuade.
McQuade lands an elbow just above Edilhson 's eye.
Edilhson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Edilhson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

McQuade tries to land knees in the clinch but Edilhson avoids the damage to the body.
Still in the clinch, McQuade scores with a nice short uppercut.
McQuade lands a nice elbow.
McQuade is trying to maintain a safe position but Edilhson gets an underhook and turns McQuade into the cage.
Edilhson tries to score a body lock takedown but McQuade shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Edilhson avoids a wild elbow strike from McQuade.
Edilhson throws an elbow but it misses.
Edilhson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
McQuade with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Edilhson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
McQuade lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
McQuade misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Edilhson.

Edilhson pulls guard.
McQuade wanted to stand there but Edilhson had control of the position.

Edilhson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McQuade defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McQuade wants to get up but he can't break Edilhson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

McQuade wanted to stand there but Edilhson had control of the position.
McQuade forces his way into half guard.

Edilhson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McQuade escapes and gets back to his feet.
Edilhson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McQuade throws a powerful right kick. Edilhson tried to block low but the kick was high! Edilhson was taken right off of his feet! McQuade jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
