Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladislav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Blue clear sky kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov throws a sloppy head kick and Anderson moves out of range easily.

Volkov wants to get back to striking at distance but Anderson won't allow it.

Anderson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Volkov keeps moving.

Anderson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Anderson is looking for a kimura but Volkov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anderson to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Anderson in particular looking to stall.

Anderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Volkov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anderson.
Volkov is staying active underneath Anderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Anderson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Volkov is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

A determined Sparky Anderson didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
