PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Moritsune Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arc Turian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Moritsune Musashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arc Turian!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turian wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Turian throws a nice outside leg kick.
Turian fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Turian tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Musashi was well out of range. Poor timing from Turian.
A looping hook to the body misses from Turian. Musashi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Turian throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Turian lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Turian swings for the body but Musashi moves out of range.

Turian has taken the fight to the clinch.

Turian is working Musashi over against the cage.
Turian digs a right hand underneath Musashi's ribcage. Musashi let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Turian trying to land knees to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Turian creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Turian connects with a nasty looking knee right to Musashi's face.
Turian lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Turian stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Musashi wants to pass the guard but Turian is defending well.
Musashi is working hard here to advance position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Musashi tries to pass to full mount but Turian defends it.
Turian tries to roll over but Musashi keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Musashi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Turian doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Musashi.
Turian is trying to maintain the position but Musashi is very close to passing his half guard.

Musashi moves nicely into side control.
Turian looking for a sweep but Musashi has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Turian is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Musashi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Musashi avoids the attempt from Turian to control.
Turian is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Musashi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Turian manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Turian tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Musashi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Turian stops Musashi from passing to mount.
Turian struggling a bit here.
Turian is looking to regain half guard here but Musashi keeps moving and retains side control.
Turian wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Musashi tries to advance to mount but can't.
Musashi staying calm.

Arc Turian dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Turian tries to close the distance and clinch up but Musashi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Turian with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Musashi seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Musashi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Musashi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Turian.
Turian thuds his shin into the meat of Musashi's side.
Musashi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Musashi keeps the fight on the outside.
Moritsune Musashi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Turian throws a head kick that Musashi semi-blocks.
Turian tries to clinch there but Musashi circles away.
Turian lands a leg kick that knocks Musashi off balance momentarily.

A thudding body kick lands there by Turian!
Turian throws a shot to the body.
Turian misses with a head kick.
Turian connects with a solid leg kick.
Turian finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Musashi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turian sprawls well. Turian wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Musashi gets slowly back to his feet.
Turian throws a leg kick that misses.
Arc Turian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Turian misses with a body shot.
Turian fails with an attempt to clinch.
Musashi checks the leg kick nicely there.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Turian. Musashi shrugs it off though.
Turian tries to clinch but Musashi moves out of range.
Turian tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Musashi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Turian has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Horrible takedown attempt by Musashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Turian, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Moritsune Musashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turian throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

No joy there for Turian, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice body punch from Turian.
Musashi slips under a jab.
Turian throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Musashi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Turian is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Musashi rather than just go for the knockout.
Turian tries to land a front kick but Musashi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Turian misses the body punch

and Musashi counters with a shoot takedown. Turian fights it but they end up in guard.
Musashi advances position into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turian prevents Musashi from improving position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arc Turian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Musashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Musashi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Musashi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turian tries to avoid it but Musashi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turian to the ground. Turian escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Turian rushes Musashi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Musashi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Musashi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Musashi is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Turian rolls with it to try and escape but Musashi cranks on the arm and Turian is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
