Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki cracks Gustafsson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Aoki throws a looping overhand right but Gustafsson ducks down to avoid it.

Aoki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Gustafsson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aoki .
Aoki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gustafsson.
Aoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gustafsson swivels and escapes.

The crowd cheers as Gustafsson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Aoki doesn't seem phased though.

Aoki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gustafsson's waist but Gustafsson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aoki off to one side.

Aoki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gustafsson.
Aoki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Aoki showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gustafsson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gustafsson darts in and clinches Aoki up against the cage.
Gustafsson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gustafsson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown but Gustafsson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Aoki 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gustafsson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gustafsson circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Aoki to the canvas! Aoki doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Gustafsson keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
