Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Long Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Van Der Sluijs!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Sluijs is looking to land body kicks.
Wang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Van Der Sluijs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Van Der Sluijs has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wang is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Van Der Sluijs lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wang's sensitive parts.
Wang looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wang looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Der Sluijs is just out of range.
Van Der Sluijs steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wang.
Good leg kick by Van Der Sluijs there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A clash of legs there as Wang blocks the low kick.
Wang misses with a wild body shot.

Wang looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Wang stays in close to Van Der Sluijs's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Der Sluijs keeping full guard, as Wang tries to pass.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Van Der Sluijs wants to stand but Wang is controlling the position.
Wang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Wang won't allow Van Der Sluijs to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wang. Van Der Sluijs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Van Der Sluijs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Van Der Sluijs uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wang throws a combination. Van Der Sluijs tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Wang misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Van Der Sluijs finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Van Der Sluijs scores with a jab to the jaw.
Van Der Sluijs throws a nice outside leg kick.
Wang looks up at the clock. Bad move! Van Der Sluijs lands a right hand from hell, dropping Wang. Van Der Sluijs pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Van Der Sluijs!
