PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bada Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boom comes into the arena with Here Comes the BOOM by: POD blaring out of the sound system. Ward is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bandz A Make Her Dance-Juicy J. The key to victory for Bada Boom has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bada Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Ward!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom looks to land a right hand but Ward moved out of range.
Boom connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ward. Ward circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Grant Ward has been cut.
Ward throws a leg kick but Boom moved away.
Boom lands a really nice looking cross but Ward seems unphased.
Boom takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A clash of legs there as Boom blocks the low kick.
Boom throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ward sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Boom throws a looping overhand right but Ward ducks down to avoid it.
Ward lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ward takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A leg kick checked by Boom.
Boom scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ward doesn't seem bothered though.
Ward throws a hook but Boom avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boom lands with a right hand.

Ward is rocked!
Boom digs a good hook to Ward's body.
Ward is still on wobbly legs! Can Boom finish him?
Ward delivers a nice body kick.
Boom cracks Ward with a good jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ward.
Boom is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Boom misses with a wild body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ward catches Boom with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ward with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Boom to score with a decent uppercut.
Boom lands a nice looking body shot.
Boom lands a jab to the head.
Ward walks straight into a right hand from Boom - that's dropped him! Boom jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ward from any more punishment! Ward complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bada Boom!

Grant Ward was interviewed post fight and said 'Props to Boom, I guess he was the better fighter today. I gotta make some changes and I'd like to drop down to 155. Thanks INSANITY for having me.'.
