The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rizzo Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Torello connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rizzo Jr cracks Torello with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Torello fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Rizzo Jr lands a body shot.
Torello throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rizzo Jr.
Torello misses with a low kick.
Rizzo Jr attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Rizzo Jr misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Torello.
Rizzo Jr takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rizzo Jr is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Torello.

Rizzo Jr lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rizzo Jr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Rizzo Jr connects with a body shot that sends Torello's belly button to the back.

Torello swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Torello digs a good body shot into Rizzo Jr's ribs.
Rizzo Jr lands a really nice looking cross but Torello seems unphased.
Torello tests Rizzo Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rizzo Jr throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rizzo Jr lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Rizzo Jr connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Torello connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rizzo Jr enables Torello to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rizzo Jr manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rizzo Jr pulls Torello in to control the position.
Rizzo Jr controls Torello momentarily but Torello frees himself.
Rizzo Jr has momentary wrist control but Torello slips an elbow through the middle.

Torello loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Torello's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Torello looking to sit in guard and control but Rizzo Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rizzo Jr trying to control but Torello is working from the bottom.
Torello has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rizzo Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torello has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rizzo Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Torello's legs - danger averted.

Rizzo Jr wants to get up but he can't break Torello's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rizzo Jr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Torello is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rizzo Jr has his hands clasped together but Torello extends and breaks Rizzo Jr's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Torello.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). James Torello!
James Torello is the new bantamweight champion!
An out of breath James Torello thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Frank Rizzo Jr stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well this is embarrassing and certainly worthy of rage quitting!!'.
