The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sea Flea paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Simans throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sea Flea missing with a left hand there. Simans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Simans counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sea Flea swings for the body but Simans moves out of range.

Simans throws a hook but Sea Flea avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simans postures up in Sea Flea's guard and throws a big left but Sea Flea blocks it.

Sea Flea has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Simans can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sea Flea is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Simans has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Miyagi Dojo. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Simans is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sea Flea gets his way!

Simans has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Oh Sea Flea is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edgars Simans is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sea Flea throws a lazy right hand but Simans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Simans throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sea Flea.
Sea Flea misses with a hook
and Simans rattles Sea Flea with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Sea Flea tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Simans dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Sea Flea stiff and motionless on the mat!
