Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Larusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larusso has chosen Glory of love as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larusso throws a push kick but Gregory slaps the foot to one side.
Larusso thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gregory if he has to take too many more of those.
Larusso pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gregory throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Larusso swinging wildly here.
No joy there for Larusso, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Larusso ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gregory moves away.

A solid leg kick lands there for Larusso.

and Gregory counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Larusso!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Larusso has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gregory has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Larusso tries to get the hooks in deep but Gregory pushed the leg off.
Gregory manages to reverse the position and now he's in Larusso's guard. Nice work there by Gregory.

Gregory is pushing down on Larusso's leg trying to pass to half guard. Larusso is fighting to maintain full guard but Gregory has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gregory seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Larusso does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've been hearing good reports from Gregory's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Gregory wants to free his trapped foot but Larusso is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gregory wants to take a breather but Larusso is having none of it.

Gregory is keen to just control but Larusso is a slippery customer.

Gregory wants to work for an arm triangle but Larusso is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Larusso throws a lazy right hand but Gregory sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Larusso misses with an uppercut. Gregory saw that one coming.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Larusso - that will leave a mark!
A head kick from Larusso lands but Gregory takes it in his stride.

It looks like Joe Gregory has been cut.
Gregory throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gregory tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Larusso is able to avoid easily.
Gregory lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Larusso at a distance.
Larusso throws a front kick that sends Gregory stumbling back into the cage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gregory. Larusso does a little dance to reset his feet.
Larusso throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Gregory takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Larusso throws the kick towards the body but Gregory avoids it.

That's time! Gregory's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gregory doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gregory rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Larusso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Larusso pushes Gregory away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gregory gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Larusso has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Gregory is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Larusso has escaped the position, nice work there.
