Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks scores with a takedown into Clay's guard.
Clay could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Clay working for a triangle but Brooks defends it easily.
Brooks wants to pass the guard but Clay is keeping the position.
Clay has Brooks pulled in close to control his posture.

Clay is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clay holds on and takes a little breather.
Brooks throws a big right hand that misses.

Brooks trying to control but Clay is working from the bottom.
Brooks tries to stand but Clay is controlling from the bottom.

Clay has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stan Clay just wasn't active enough.

Clay has his foot on Brooks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brooks works his way back into a safe position though.

Clay is working an open guard so Brooks takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Brooks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Clay can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brooks controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clay controls Brooks momentarily but Brooks frees himself.

Brooks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Clay wants to sweep here but Brooks controlling him for the moment.
Clay pulls Brooks in close to prevent any damage.
Brooks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Brooks rushes Clay and presses him up against the cage.

Clay shoots in looking for a takedown but Brooks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Clay's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Clay.

Brooks gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Brooks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clay is one step ahead there.
Clay postures up in Brooks's guard and throws a big left but Brooks blocks it.

Clay gets to mount! Brooks was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brooks manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Brooks is trying to control but can't.

Clay is fighting to break Brooks's control of his arms but Brooks is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Clay keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brooks's head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Brooks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Clay manages to get himself to full guard.

Brooks gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Brooks drives through and clinches with Clay against the cage.

Clay postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brooks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Clay is standing up over Brooks. Brooks looks to escape but Clay dives into side control.
Brooks is breathing heavily.

Clay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brooks is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brooks is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Clay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Brooks closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Clay's guard.

Clay had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brooks defends it easily.

Clay is trying to keep Brooks in close.

Clay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brooks is aware though and is defending well.

Brooks is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Brooks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Clay's guard.

Brooks thows a huge punch but Clay dodges it nicely.
Clay is trying to maintain the position but Brooks is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well Brooks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
