Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Ronaldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Rock Master Scott & The Dynamic Three - The Roof Is On Fire. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonio Ronaldo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns with a poor takedown
and Ronaldo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ronaldo. Burns does a little dance to reset his feet.
Burns goes for a double leg but Ronaldo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ronaldo continues to drive forward.
Ronaldo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Ronaldo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ronaldo throws a head punch that misses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Burns.
Burns wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ronaldo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ronaldo stalls.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ronaldo has a couple of punches blocked by Burns.

Ronaldo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ronaldo lands a leg kick that knocks Burns off balance momentarily.

Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Ronaldo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ronaldo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Burns is working Ronaldo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Burns has gone for a leg lock! Ronaldo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Burns's guard.

Burns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ronaldo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Burns keeping moving, preventing Ronaldo from controlling successfully.
Burns tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ronaldo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burns swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burns is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ronaldo sprawls well. Ronaldo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burns gets slowly back to his feet.

Burns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Burns looking to sit in guard and control but Ronaldo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Burns shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ronaldo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burns thinking.
Ronaldo looks to score with a jab to the body but Burns is just out of range.

It looks like Antonio Ronaldo has been cut.
Burns throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ronaldo throws a nice inside leg kick.
No luck for Burns with that takedown attempt.

Ronaldo throws a good cross that connects.
Ronaldo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ronaldo enables Burns to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ronaldo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ronaldo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Burns postures up in Ronaldo's guard and throws a big left but Ronaldo blocks it.
Burns cracks Ronaldo with a solid left hand.

Burns connects with a right hand. Ronaldo shakes it off.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ronaldo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burns.
Burns swings for the body but Ronaldo moves out of range.
Ronaldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burns.

Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ronaldo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ronaldo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burns was well out of range. Poor timing from Ronaldo.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Burns will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Antonio Ronaldo's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Ronaldo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ronaldo is looking for a sweep. Burns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ronaldo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Burns's hands.
Ronaldo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Burns rather than just go for the knockout.
Ronaldo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Burns dives in for a single leg takedown but Ronaldo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Burns goes for a takedown attempt but Ronaldo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Ronaldo drops Burns with a big left hand and mounts him. Burns is in big trouble!


Burns is rocked!


It looks like Brian Burns has been cut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ronaldo wants to finish this one by submission but Burns is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ronaldo.
Ronaldo trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ronaldo content just to control the position here.
Ronaldo wants to take his opponent's back but Burns doesn't allow it.

Ronaldo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Burns is now in Ronaldo's guard. A big mistake from Ronaldo there, giving up the dominant position!

And that's the end of the fight!
Antonio Ronaldo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ronaldo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
