The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakiyev misses the shot to the body.
Gambino uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bakiyev.

and Bakiyev counters with a straight right hand.
Bakiyev connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gambino momentarily.
Gambino looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gambino lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Gambino throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bakiyev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gambino is in Bakiyev's guard.

Bakiyev wanted to stand there but Gambino had control of the position.
Bakiyev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gambino has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bakiyev has managed to get both his arms back between Gambino's legs - danger averted.
Gambino has his foot on Bakiyev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bakiyev works his way back into a safe position though.
Bakiyev wanted to stand there but Gambino had control of the position.
Bakiyev trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Gambino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gambino is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bakiyev has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bakiyev!

That's time! Bakiyev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gambino is defended easily by Bakiyev.
Bakiyev throws a body shot but no joy.
Gambino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bakiyev's waist but Bakiyev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gambino off to one side.

Gambino has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bakiyev catches Gambino with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gambino takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
