The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla throws a body punch but Reach moves out of range.
Reach scores with a hook.
Padilla throws a shot from downtown. Reach moves away and avoids it.
Nice body kick there by Reach.

Padilla lands with a hook. Reach tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Padilla drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Reach goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Padilla swings for the body but Reach moves out of range.
Reach lands a nice looking kick to the body. Padilla takes a step back to recover.

Padilla does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Padilla fakes the leg kick and cracks Reach in the body.

Reach catches Padilla with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Reach looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Reach connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Reach uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Padilla.

Reach takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Padilla tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Reach throws a nice looking combination but Padilla bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Johnny Reach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Padilla.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Padilla tries to free his leg and advance position but Reach is retaining full guard.

Reach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Padilla passes into half guard.

Padilla stands up out of the half guard.
Reach getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Padilla swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
