PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ceaser Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmer Fredette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmer Fredette told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ceaser Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmer Fredette!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Fredette. Those never looked like landing.
Fredette lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Fredette.
Fredette lunges at Gracie with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gracie's hand.
Fredette throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fredette misses with a straight right.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fredette rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fredette looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Fredette persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fredette falls off balance throwing a combination

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Fredette didn't expect that.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fredette swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fredette can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fredette won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.
Fredette trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Gracie manages to pass to mount!
Gracie wants to take his opponent's back but Fredette doesn't allow it.
Fredette tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gracie moves to take his opponent's back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Fredette is doing well to defend. Gracie seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Fredette is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ceaser Gracie!
