The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portugis moves out of range of the strikes.
Portugis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Okami doesn't seem bothered though.
Okami throws a body shot but no joy.
Portugis chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Portugis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Okami rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Portugis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Okami doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Raul Portugis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Portugis slips a straight right by Okami.
Okami on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Portugis shoots in looking for a takedown but Okami manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Portugis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Okami uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Portugis.

Okami throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Portugis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Okami looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Okami drops Portugis with a nice combination! Okami dives into Portugis's guard, looking to finish!

Portugis is rocked!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Okami postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Portugis covers up, he's hurt! Okami keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Okami and the ref steps in to end the fight! Okami can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

A relieved looking Yushin Okami thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
