PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zak Drezner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zell Dincht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drezner comes to the cage accompanied by Cypress Hill - Checkmate. Dincht has chosen Fanfare as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zak Drezner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zell Dincht!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Drezner misses.
Dincht just misses with a punch to the body.
Dincht catches Drezner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Drezner swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dincht.
Drezner throws a head kick that misses.
Drezner takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Drezner throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drezner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dincht swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Drezner scores with a jab. Dincht acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Drezner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dincht eats them both and turns towards Drezner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dincht throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Drezner misses with a hook. Dincht ducked under it nicely.
Dincht scores with a shot to the body.
Dincht connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Drezner throws a head kick but Dincht moves out of range.

Drezner clinches.

Dincht wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Drezner lands a nice uppercut.
Dincht takes an elbow to the forehead.
Drezner wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Drezner is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dincht is defending well for now.
Dincht is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Drezner to keep the fight standing.
Drezner is looking to control Dincht's arms but Dincht gets an underhook and turns him. Now Drezner has his back to the cage.
Drezner has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Drezner is looking to stand up but Dincht won't let him.
Dincht managing to control the position.
Dincht is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Drezner trying to control but Dincht is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A punch lands to the side of Drezner 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Drezner smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Drezner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Drezner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dincht if he has to take too many more of those.
Drezner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Drezner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dincht takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A jab from Drezner misses.
Dincht lands with a nice combination. Drezner backs away looking to recover.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dincht.
Dincht connects with a single shot there.
Dincht scores with a nice strike.
Dincht bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Drezner works Dincht's body with a nice hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dincht shoots in for a double leg but Drezner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Drezner throws a big shot that misses.
Drezner throws a body kick that misses.
Zak Drezner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Drezner throws a head kick that misses.
Dincht keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Drezner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Drezner moves into the clinch successfully.
Drezner is looking to control Dincht's arms but Dincht gets an underhook and turns him. Now Drezner has his back to the cage.
Drezner stops a takedown attempt from Dincht.
Zak Drezner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zell Dincht.
Dincht is trying to pull guard but Drezner turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Drezner landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Drezner breaks from the clinch.
Drezner turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dincht takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
A jab from Drezner misses.

Drezner blocks a jab.
Drezner swings for the body but Dincht moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice uppercut lands for Dincht. That snapped Drezner's head back.
Drezner misses with an uppercut.
Drezner moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dincht throws out a loose jab but Drezner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dincht attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Dincht jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dincht moves out of range of the body kick.
Dincht lands an overhand right.
Dincht throws a poor cross that misses
and Drezner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dincht chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Drezner can pounce on him.
Drezner scores with a hook.
Drezner scores with a sloppy right hand. Dincht should have avoided that one.
Dincht blocks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zak Drezner dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Drezner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zak Drezner is winning the standup battle so far.
Dincht throws a body shot but no joy.
A head kick misses from Drezner.
Dincht swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Drezner throws a head kick that misses.
Drezner looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Dincht keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Drezner.
Drezner lands a leg kick that knocks Dincht off balance momentarily.
Dincht shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Drezner as he jumps to the side.
Dincht lands a nice leg kick that just misses Drezner's sensitive parts.
Dincht plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Dincht tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drezner was well out of range. Poor timing from Dincht.
Dincht swats away the attempt to clinch by Drezner.
Drezner throws an off balance right hand
and Dincht counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drezner works Dincht's body with a nice hook.
Drezner walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dincht checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dincht takes one on the button.
Dincht scoring well with a low kick there.
Nice jab there from Dincht.
Dincht keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Drezner.
Dincht blocks a head kick by Drezner.
Dincht shoots in looking for a takedown but Drezner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dincht's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dincht needs to keep his hands up - Drezner had a free shot at his head there.


Dincht is rocked!
Sloppy strikes from Drezner. Those never looked like landing.
Dincht is still on wobbly legs! Can Drezner finish him?
Drezner closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Dincht! Drezner dives in looking to finish! Dincht is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zak Drezner!
A relieved looking Zak Drezner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
