Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fahad Al Qarni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lukas Hollerbach!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Qarni moves out of range of the strikes.
A big left from Hollerbach misses.
Hollerbach connects with an inside leg kick.
Al Qarni closes the distance and clinches up with Hollerbach, looking for a takedown. Al Qarni pushes Hollerbach against the cage but Hollerbach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hollerbach jabs Al Qarni right on the nose. Al Qarni blinks but takes it well.
Nice sprawl there from Hollerbach as Al Qarni shoots in.
Hollerbach lands a head shot.
Al Qarni shoots for a takedown but Hollerbach saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fahad Al Qarni. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Al Qarni decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hollerbach is looking for a sweep. Al Qarni is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Al Qarni is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hollerbach defends it well.

Al Qarni seems to be looking for submissions.

Al Qarni drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hollerbach dives on top into guard.

Al Qarni escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hollerbach gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lukas Hollerbach.
Hollerbach lands a nice leg kick that just misses Al Qarni's sensitive parts.
Al Qarni shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hollerbach sprawls well. Hollerbach wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Al Qarni gets slowly back to his feet.
Al Qarni shoots in but no luck this time.

Hollerbach swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Al Qarni cracks Hollerbach with a good jab.
Lukas Hollerbach is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hollerbach connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Fahad Al Qarni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al Qarni fails with a takedown attempt.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Al Qarni crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hollerbach - the referee stops the clock and Al Qarni gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hollerbach. Al Qarni manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Al Qarni shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hollerbach seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Hollerbach has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Al Qarni can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hollerbach wants to stand and escape but Al Qarni is having none of it.

Al Qarni is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hollerbach utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Al Qarni tries to free his leg and advance position but Hollerbach is retaining full guard.

Hollerbach looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hollerbach has his foot on Al Qarni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Al Qarni works his way back into a safe position though.

Al Qarni drops back looking for a leg! Hollerbach is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hollerbach manages to kick Al Qarni off! Al Qarni jumps back into Hollerbach's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Qarni tries to move into range but Hollerbach moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Al Qarni is rocked!
Al Qarni chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hollerbach can pounce on him.
Oh Al Qarni is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Al Qarni tries to move into range but Hollerbach moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hollerbach lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Al Qarni displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hollerbach throws out the jab.

Al Qarni fails to land the takedown.
Al Qarni seems to have got his legs back now.
Hollerbach lands the left hand.
Hollerbach fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Hollerbach cracks Al Qarni with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hollerbach moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Al Qarni throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hollerbach's waist but Hollerbach gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Al Qarni off to one side.

Al Qarni looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Horrible takedown by Al Qarni or perhaps it was just good defense by Hollerbach which made him look bad.

Hollerbach lands with a hook. Al Qarni tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Al Qarni takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Hollerbach cracks Al Qarni with a right hand to the side of the head.
Al Qarni takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hollerbach fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Al Qarni.
Al Qarni takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Al Qarni shoots in for a takedown but Hollerbach shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hollerbach wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hollerbach lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Al Qarni chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hollerbach can pounce on him.
Hollerbach thuds his right hand into Al Qarni's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A head kick from Hollerbach lands but Al Qarni takes it in his stride.
Al Qarni walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Al Qarni has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hollerbach.
Al Qarni shoots for a double leg takedown but Hollerbach sprawls well. He's pushed Al Qarni's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hollerbach lands a nice looking body shot.
Hollerbach throws out a powerful jab.
Hollerbach takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Hollerbach misses with a double jab.
Hollerbach stuffs the takedown attempt from Al Qarni. Al Qarni gets slowly back to his feet.
Hollerbach dips to his left and cracks Al Qarni with an uppercut!
Al Qarni walks straight into a right hand from Hollerbach - that's dropped him! Hollerbach jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Al Qarni from any more punishment! Al Qarni complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lukas Hollerbach!
