Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Clean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Pico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roberto Clean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Pico!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pico feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Clean keeping full guard, as Pico tries to pass.
Pico wants to control from the top but Clean keeps moving.
Clean looking to control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pico throws a head kick that misses.
Clean moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Clean lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Clean lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clean throws a right hand that Pico ducks under and follows up with a left that Pico also avoids with ease.
Clean connects with the punch.
Clean moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Pico instigates a clinch.
Pico is stalling here.

Pico breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pico shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Clean napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Clean tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pico wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Pico has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Pico clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pico has Clean pushed against the cage.
Pico tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clean just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pico wants the takedown. Clean is fighting it off but Pico persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Clean's guard against the cage.
Pico is looking to advance position but Clean has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Pico throwing hammer fists to the chest of Clean. What's that going to do exactly?
Clean wants to stand but Pico is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Pico tries to hold on but Clean pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pico is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Clean is staying active.

Clean stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Clean falls off balance throwing a combination

and Pico counters by clinching up.
Clean is breathing heavily.
Clean has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Pico is trying to trip Clean. He has hold of a leg but Clean is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pico persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pico stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clean swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pico is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Clean is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Clean has escaped and now he's on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clean is fighting to break Pico's control of his arms but Pico is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Clean tries to stand but Pico is controlling from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pico is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Pico dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pico dives in and scores a takedown into Clean's guard.
Clean wants to get back to his feet but Pico is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Pico stands and steps away. Clean gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Pico throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Clean avoids the head kick by Pico.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Clean enables Pico to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Clean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pico stays in close to Clean's body and controls the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Clean defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pico.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clean misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Clean does no damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pico gets a clinch.

Pico pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Clean lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pico circles away quickly and effectively.

Pico has managed to clinch.
Clean is looking to break free of the clinch but Pico has double underhooks.
Pico tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clean just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pico tries to pull guard but Clean forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Roberto Clean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Pico.

Pico breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roberto Clean is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pico misses with a head kick.
Clean will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Clean misses with a double jab.

Pico moves into the clinch.

Pico pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clean swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pico counters with an outside leg kick.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Clean!

Pico dives in and scores a takedown into Clean's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pico trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pico keeps trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pico feints a jab promting Clean to slip. Pico then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Clean slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Pico fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Clean to the ground. Pico is now in Clean's guard.
Pico slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pico must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Clean misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pico drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Aaron Pico has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pico wants to take a breather but Clean manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Pico.
We've been informed that Pico has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Pico is stalling in the full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Pico showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Clean swings away with a body shot that misses

and Pico counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pico trying to control from half guard but Clean is working away.

Pico is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Clean defends it well.
Well, if Pico is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Pico wants to free his trapped foot but Clean is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pico shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Pico decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clean scores with a shot to the body.

Clean gets caught napping as Pico dives in and scores a takedown. Clean manages to retain guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pico has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Clean is proving hard to escape from.
Pico controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Roberto Clean has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Clean catches Pico with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lazy left from Clean finds it's target.
Clean throws a series of punches but Pico moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pico shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clean is trying to defend but Pico finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pico lands with a punch from half guard.
Pico landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Pico works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roberto Clean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aaron Pico is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pico lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aaron Pico comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Pico winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
