Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Georgy Fokin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nopparat Somchaimy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nopparat Somchaimy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Georgy Fokin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nopparat Somchaimy!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fokin checks a leg kick.
Fokin tries to score with a low kick but Somchaimy moves his leg out of the way.
Fokin connects with a single shot there.
Fokin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Georgy Fokin has been cut.
Somchaimy swinging wildly here.
Nice takedown defense from Somchaimy. No joy for Fokin on that attempt.
Somchaimy lands a jab.
Somchaimy tries to land a leg kick but Fokin saw it coming and moves away.
That kick from Somchaimy tenderised Fokin's leg. Fokin is trying to keep his angry face on.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fokin misses with an uppercut. Somchaimy saw that one coming.
Somchaimy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fokin momentarily.

Somchaimy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fokin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fokin works over Somchaimy's head and body with a nice combination.
Somchaimy buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fokin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Somchaimy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Fokin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Somchaimy won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Somchaimy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fokin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Somchaimy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Somchaimy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fokin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Somchaimy wants to control but Fokin is keeping busy.
Fokin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Somchaimy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Somchaimy is positioning himself well to prevent Fokin advancing to mount.

Fokin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Somchaimy, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fokin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fokin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fokin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Somchaimy defends it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fokin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Somchaimy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Somchaimy is wriggling around trying to escape.

Fokin has hold of Somchaimy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Somchaimy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fokin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Somchaimy looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Somchaimy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fokin.
Fokin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Somchaimy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Somchaimy tries to land a front kick but Fokin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Fokin avoids a kick to the body.
Fokin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fokin moves forwards but Somchaimy connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Fokin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Fokin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fokin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Somchaimy is still in real trouble! Can Fokin finish him?
Fokin loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Somchaimy scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Fokin land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Fokin stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Georgy Fokin!
