Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and A J Hearts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, LIVING IN AMERICA BY JAMES BROWN. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses the jab.
Jackson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hearts cracks the inside of Jackson's front leg.
A low kick from Hearts is predictable there
and Jackson counters with a nice uppercut.
Hearts throws the kick towards the body but Jackson avoids it.
Hearts uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson tries to move into range but Hearts moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hearts has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Hearts counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jackson wants to improve his position but instead Hearts has moved into half guard.

Hearts throws a big elbow that misses.
Jackson is trying to keep Hearts in close.
Hearts is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jackson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hearts is now in half guard.

Jackson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

It looks like Apollo Jackson has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hearts lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
