Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waters comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hip Hop kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Derek Waters!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters throws a lazy uppercut

and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Waters's guard now.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Waters is retaining full guard.
We've been hearing that Johnson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Waters has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson tries to pull guard but Waters holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Johnson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Waters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
