Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasteur Murwanashyaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pasteur Murwanashyaka!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A thudding body kick lands there by Jones!
Jones dives in and grabs Murwanashyaka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Murwanashyaka pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Jones throws a hook but Murwanashyaka avoids it easily.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Murwanashyaka.

Murwanashyaka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Murwanashyaka is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Murwanashyaka is trying to ground and pound but Jones uses the momentary lack of control by Murwanashyaka to regain half guard.
Murwanashyaka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Murwanashyaka's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Murwanashyaka's back!
Jones lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Murwanashyaka hold on?!

Murwanashyaka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murwanashyaka has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Murwanashyaka not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Murwanashyaka wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murwanashyaka drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones tries to stand but Murwanashyaka is controlling his head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Murwanashyaka is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murwanashyaka as he avoids it easily.

Jay Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones leaves Murwanashyaka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Murwanashyaka shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Murwanashyaka is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Murwanashyaka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Jay Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pasteur Murwanashyaka.

Murwanashyaka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones pushes Murwanashyaka away with a front kick.
A nice combination there by Jones.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Murwanashyaka jumps guard but Jones turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.

Murwanashyaka tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones is trying to pull guard but Murwanashyaka turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Murwanashyaka manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Murwanashyaka is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murwanashyaka tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murwanashyaka to the ground. Murwanashyaka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones gets caught flat footed, as Murwanashyaka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Murwanashyaka wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Murwanashyaka wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Murwanashyaka should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jones has tightened it up now! Murwanashyaka should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
