And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Heads Will Roll!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Will Roll throws a body punch but Morrell moves out of range.
Will Roll misses with a hook

and Morrell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Will Roll won't be happy with that.

Morrell is trying to get an arm triangle but Will Roll is defending well.
Will Roll is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Morrell has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Morrell slows the pace down.
Will Roll is trying to get back to his feet.

Morrell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Will Roll knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morrell is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Will Roll will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Morrell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Will Roll, who protects the arm well.

Morrell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Will Roll knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Morrell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Morrell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Morrell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Will Roll has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Morrell but great work by Will Roll.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Will Roll closes the distance and clinches.
Will Roll pushes Morrell back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Morrell prevents a body shot from Will Roll.
Will Roll misses with a short punch on the inside.
Morrell is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Will Roll is defending well.
Will Roll tries a body shot but Morrell blocks it.
Will Roll gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Morrell.
Will Roll is trying to stall.
Will Roll lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Morrell backwards.

Pierre Morrell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morrell has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Will Roll defend it? Morrell steps over the head and cranks it - Will Roll is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Morrell!
