Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonion Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Laston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laston changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Laston manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Laston drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Laston has Jones in his guard.

Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Laston's head.
Laston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Derrick Laston is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Laston fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Laston is now in Jones's guard.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Laston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
