Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Long Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TR AL (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). TR AL has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AL shoots in but Owens avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Owens closes the distance and clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by AL.
AL is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Owens tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Owens drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
AL pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Owens is keeping the position for now.
Owens can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as AL controls the pace.
Owens pulls AL in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

AL has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Owens is proving hard to escape from.

Owens wants to sweep but no luck.
AL must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Owens counters by clinching up.

Owens manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
AL looking to sit in guard and control but Owens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

AL has his foot on Owens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Owens works his way back into a safe position though.

Owens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
AL throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Owens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Long Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TR AL.
A clash of legs there as Owens blocks the low kick.
Owens tries to clinch up but AL circles away and keeps his distance.
TR AL seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Owens throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. AL tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Owens is in AL's guard.
Owens working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Owens missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Owens tries to stand but AL is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

AL with a lazy takedown attempt

and Owens counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Owens stands and steps away. AL gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

AL gets in close and instigates a clinch.
AL can't get the takedown.
Owens working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Owens has AL pressed against the cage, preventing AL from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Owens looking to throw knees to the head but AL is blocking nicely.
AL is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Owens is defending well.
Long Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TR AL.
AL goes for a takedown in the clinch but Owens prevents it.

AL is breathing heavily.

Owens gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, AL regains guard.

AL wants to sweep but no luck.
AL striking off his back but it's not causing Owens any problems.

AL is looking to sweep but instead, Owens has passed into half guard.
AL makes his way to full guard. A much better position for AL.
Owens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
AL is trying to control the position but Owens postures up.

Owens lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Owens's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Owens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on AL, up you get!
AL shoots and misses

and Owens counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Owens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Owens drops an elbow to the side of AL's head.
Owens is nestled in close to AL, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Owens decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Owens gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Owens has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics AL uses from the top position.
Owens wants to sweep here but AL controlling him for the moment.

Owens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. AL gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
AL throws a strike but Owens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Owens scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Owens wanted to stand there but AL had control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Owens is working AL over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Owens throws a half hearted mid kick.
Owens keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown by AL or perhaps it was just good defense by Owens which made him look bad.
AL tries to clinch but Owens moves out of range.
Owens throws a push kick but AL slaps the foot to one side.
Owens moves in looking to clinch but AL pushes him off.
AL swinging wildly here.
AL takes a swing at Owens's ribcage but misses.

Long Owens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
AL throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Owens decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Owens counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Owens.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Owens jumps guard but AL stands there with Owens around his waist. Owens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
AL tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Owens's elbow.

Owens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in AL's guard.
Owens controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Owens has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Owens wants to stand and escape but instead AL has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Owens throws his legs up looking for a submission but AL uses it to pass to side control.

AL has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
AL misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
AL fails with a takedown attempt.
Long Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TR AL.

Owens tries to break free but AL pushes him back against the cage.

Owens throws a punch but it's blocked by AL.
Owens jumps guard but AL stands there with Owens around his waist. Owens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

AL jumps into guard, dragging Owens to the mat.
Owens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
AL wants to improve his position but instead Owens has moved into half guard.
Owens is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
TR AL has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Long Owens is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

AL has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Owens escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Owens!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Owens, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
