The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jasper throws a sloppy head kick and Shen moves out of range easily.
Shen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jasper's waist but Jasper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shen off to one side.
Shen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jasper circles away.
Jan Jasper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shilong Shen.
Jasper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jasper throws a head kick but Shen moves out of range.

Shen drops back looking for a leg! Jasper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jasper manages to kick Shen off! Shen jumps back into Jasper's guard.
Shen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jasper is pushing Shen's head away, looking to escape. Shen manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shen has an Americana. Jasper didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Shen is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shen hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
