Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mees Metsast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Kilju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mees Metsast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pablo Kilju!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metsast throws a one two combo.
Metsast scores with a kick to the midsection.
Metsast scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Mees Metsast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kilju darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kilju is trying to control. Metsast wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kilju seems to be looking for submissions.
Metsast is trying to control but can't.
Metsast misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Metsast is trying to maintain the position but Kilju is very close to passing his half guard.
Metsast preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Metsast wants to sweep but Kilju has passed to side control!

Kilju looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Metsast is looking for a sweep.

Kilju is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Metsast is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Metsast tries to bench press Kilju off him but Kilju keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Metsast is working hard here to advance position.

Kilju is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Metsast knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kilju is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Metsast has escaped the position, nice work there.

Metsast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kilju on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kilju is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Metsast is defending against the submission attempts here by Kilju.
My spies in Hilo Training Center inform me that Kilju has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Metsast tries to roll over but Kilju keeps him under control.
Metsast is pressing down on Kilju's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Metsast wants to improve his position but instead Kilju has moved into half guard.
Metsast is not content to let Kilju control the position.

Kilju is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Metsast sees it coming and defends easily.
Metsast has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kilju is working away from the top position though.
Metsast is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kilju's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kilju's back!
Metsast biding his time, looking for the opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kilju breaks Metsast's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kilju won't allow Metsast to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mees Metsast dominated that round.
That's time! Metsast's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Kilju drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kilju slips nicely into half guard.

Metsast is defending against the submission attempts here by Kilju.
Kilju is thwarting Metsast's attempts to control the position.
Kilju is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kilju looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kilju in particular looking to stall.
Metsast is trying to get back to full guard.
Metsast controlling the position well.
Metsast gets full guard.

Kilju thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kilju drops back looking for a leg! Metsast is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Metsast manages to kick Kilju off! Kilju jumps back into Metsast's guard.
Kilju prevents Metsast from getting back to his feet.

Kilju is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Metsast is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kilju is controlling him.
Metsast looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kilju is one step ahead there.
Metsast pulls Kilju in to control the position.

Kilju thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kilju trying to control but Metsast is working from the bottom.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kilju wants to control from the top but Metsast keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Mees Metsast wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Metsast throws a front kick that sends Kilju stumbling back into the cage.
We've been told by Metsast's head coaches at Brick Brawlers MMA (12 Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by Metsast.
Metsast fakes the leg kick and cracks Kilju in the body.
Kilju is breathing heavily.
A jab from Metsast does it's job there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Metsast lands with a big left! Kilju is wobbled badly! Metsast comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Kilju to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mees Metsast!
