The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy throws a head kick that misses.

Murphy dives in and scores a takedown into Khan's guard.
Murphy wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Murphy is defending well though. Khan let's go of the attempt for now.
Murphy wants to escape the position.

Murphy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Khan gets his way!

Khan is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Murphy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Murphy just trying to survive but Khan is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Khan has the hooks in. Murphy is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Khan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Murphy knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Murphy for a finish.

Murphy tries to roll over but Khan keeps him under control.
Murphy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Khan is working away from the top position though.

Khan is working for a kimura but Murphy is defending it quite comfortably.
Khan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Khan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Murphy throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Khan drops back looking for a leg! Murphy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murphy manages to kick Khan off! Khan jumps back into Murphy's guard.

Murphy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Khan is aware though and is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Khan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Murphy dives on top into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Khan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Murphy doesn't defend quickly enough and Khan has managed to lock this one up! Can Murphy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Khan on a fantastic submission victory.
