Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Kampmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mega has chosen Black and Yellow as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Martin Kampmann has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Martin Kampmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Mega!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampmann plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Max Mega has been cut.
Martin Kampmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mega misses with an uppercut
and Kampmann counters with an inside leg kick.
Mega scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kampmann does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kampmann lands a left and a right that send Mega crashing to the mat, dazed. Kampmann thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kampmann looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kampmann lands a lovely overhand right.
Kampmann defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mega.
Mega slips a jab from Kampmann.
Kampmann lands with a right hand.
Kampmann is looking to clinch but Mega is avoiding it.
Mega steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kampmann.

and Mega counters with a single leg into guard. Kampmann didn't expect that.
Kampmann keeping moving, preventing Mega from controlling successfully.
Kampmann definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kampmann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kampmann pushes Mega off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mega throws the left hand but Kampmann avoids the punch easily.
Kampmann throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Martin Kampmann is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mega dives in and grabs Kampmann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kampmann pushes down on Mega's head and hops out.
Kampmann misses with a straight left.
A lazy left from Kampmann finds it's target.
Mega checks the leg kick.
Kampmann pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mega.
Martin Kampmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Mega.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mega keeps the fight on the outside.

Mega is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kampmann's half guard.
Mega stalling away here and it's allowed Kampmann to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Kampmann wants to sweep here but Mega controlling him for the moment.

Mega postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mega passes Kampmann's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kampmann on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kampmann tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mega might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kampmann haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kampmann can't keep his opponent in guard - Mega advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Kampmann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mega is working away from the top position though.
Mega tries to pass to full mount but Kampmann defends it.
Kampmann blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mega.
Mega seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kampmann does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mega is just content to waste time from the top position. Kampmann takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Mega stands and throws Kampmann's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mega working the head with strikes.
Mega trying to control the action but Kampmann is working from the bottom.
Mega lands a nice forearm strike.
Kampmann is looking for a sweep.
Sloppy strikes there by Mega.
Mega cracks Kampmann with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kampmann is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mega asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Kampmann is looking to reverse the position.

Kampmann is not content to let Mega control the position.
Mega working away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kampmann tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mega wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mega is looking to take a break and control but Kampmann is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kampmann tries to improve position but can't.

Kampmann is working hard here to advance position.
Kampmann parries the strikes from Mega easily there. Mega is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kampmann to escape.
Mega advances to full mount.

Kampmann is rocked!
Mega looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Kampmann covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Mega!
A very excited looking Max Mega made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
