PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Epping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Corll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corll is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by South Texas Death Ride. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Epping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Corll!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corll jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Corll is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Epping.
Corll cracks a nice hook into Epping's ribs.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
An inside leg kick lands from Epping.
Epping misses with a body kick.
Corll on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Epping thows a body shot but no joy.
Epping takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Epping scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Corll thuds his shin into the meat of Epping's side.

Corll shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Corll was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Corll is looking to take a break and control but Epping is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Corll moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corll passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Epping!
Corll controlling the pace for now.
Corll throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Epping is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Corll takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Epping holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Corll tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Corll tries to control but Epping wriggling away.
Corll controlling the pace for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Corll lands a big shot there that rocks Epping but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Epping is in a horrible position here. Corll smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Corll wants to control the pace but Epping is squirming around nicely.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Corll working his ground and pound in the gym.
Corll is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Corll sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Epping is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corll unloads with some shots from mount but Epping bucks and avoids them well.
Epping tries to hold on but Corll postures up.
Corll working the ground and pound effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Corll working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Corll lands a big elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Epping blocking the ground and pound.
Corll postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Epping looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Corll dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Epping checks a leg kick.
Corll thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Epping if he has to take too many more of those.
Epping gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Dean Corll!
A relieved looking Dean Corll thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
