Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stig Helmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Irving Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stig Helmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Irving Brown!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helmer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Helmer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brown connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like Stig Helmer has been cut.
Helmer takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brown tries a head kick but it misses.
Helmer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Helmer fails with the takedown
and Brown counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stig Helmer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Helmer dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Helmer's head and hops out.
Brown stuffs the takedown attempt from Helmer. Helmer gets slowly back to his feet.
Helmer fails with the takedown.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Brown has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Helmer takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Helmer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.

Helmer dives in and scores a takedown into Brown's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brown has his hands on Helmer's head, controlling the position.

Brown has Helmer pulled in close to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Irving Brown has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Brown misses with a kick to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Brown.

Helmer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brown quickly recovers to half guard.
Helmer thows a huge punch but Brown dodges it nicely.

Helmer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brown is trying to get back to full guard.

Helmer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well.
Helmer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Helmer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Helmer tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance.

Brown lands a head kick!
Brown connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Helmer's hands.


Stig Helmer's cut is getting worse.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown throws a nice outside leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brown.
Brown is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Helmer.
Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Brown misses with a looping right.
Helmer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Helmer persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.
Helmer thows a left - swing and a miss!
Helmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Helmer off to one side.
Some bone on bone action there as Helmer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Brown fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Helmer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Brown lands a front kick.
Brown lands with a kick to the temple. Helmer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Helmer blocks a leg kick.
Brown is looking to land body kicks.
Brown lands a nice leg kick that just misses Helmer's sensitive parts.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brown thows a body shot but no joy.
Brown lands with a thumping leg kick.
Brown connects with an inside leg kick.
Helmer has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Brown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brown delivers a nice body kick.
Irving Brown seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Brown connects with a solid leg kick.
Brown comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Stig Helmer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brown.

Helmer on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brown, right into the meat.
Brown lands a body shot.
Brown pushes Helmer away with a front kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brown lands with a kick to the ribs.
Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brown misses the jab.
Helmer has his takedown stuffed

and Brown counters with a head kick that drops Helmer to the mat! Helmer scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Helmer tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Brown lands with a nice body kick.
Brown scores with a kick to the body.

Brown lands a front kick.
Brown feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Helmer's calf.
Brown cracks Helmer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


Helmer is rocked!


Stig Helmer's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Brown scores with a kick to the midsection.
Helmer takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Helmer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Helmer persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.
Brown scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Brown thuds his shin into the meat of Helmer's side.
Brown looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Helmer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Brown. Brown obviously looking to wear him down.
Brown lands a big head kick that sends Helmer to the canvas! Brown follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Irving Brown!
