The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Michalek steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Butts.
Butts tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Michalek is looking to slow Butts down with leg kicks.
Michalek connects with a high kick.

It looks like Philmore Butts has been cut.
Michalek pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Butts has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Michalek connects with a solid leg kick.
Michalek seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Michalek tries a head kick but it misses.
Butts thows a left - swing and a miss!

Michalek connects with a leg kick. Butts looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Michalek fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Butts has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Butts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Michalek manages to avoid it.
Butts ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Michalek moves away.
Butts misses the jab.
Michalek bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Butts looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Butts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Michalek.
Michalek lands with a nice body kick.
Butts misses with a few strikes there.
A slapping body kick lands there for Michalek.
Butts lands a glancing blow to the side of Michalek's head.

Michalek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Michalek in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Butts tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Michalek!
