Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joeli Babitu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maiden comes to the cage accompanied by Walk. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maiden thows a left - swing and a miss!
Babitu has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Maiden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Babitu moves away.

We've been hearing reports that Maiden has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Maiden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Babitu can't do much from the bottom here.

Maiden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddy Maiden.
