Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McIlvey wants to clinch up but Torres keeps it at a distance.
Torres gets a takedown into half guard.
McIlvey felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McIlvey wants to improve his position but Torres is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Skip Torres.

Torres fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Torres changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McIlvey tries to avoid it but Torres manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McIlvey to the ground. McIlvey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Skip Torres. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Torres tries to bum rush McIlvey with a series of wild strikes but McIlvey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Torres changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McIlvey tries to avoid it but Torres manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McIlvey to the ground. McIlvey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Torres counters with a series of strikes. McIlvey will be more careful next time no doubt.
Torres lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McIlvey circles away quickly and effectively.
McIlvey clinches up with Torres and pushes him back against the cage.

Torres throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Torres cracks McIlvey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

McIlvey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Torres is desperately trying to improve his position but McIlvey has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
