Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Samin Ax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samin Ax has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samin Ax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ax rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hunter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ax misses with the combination.

Hunter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ax is trying to defend but Hunter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ax is not content to let Hunter control the position.
Ax is looking to escape.
Ax is looking for a sweep. Hunter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ax wants to get back to full guard but Hunter has mounted him!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hunter working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Ax regains half guard.
Ax moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Ax throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hunter escapes and throws Ax's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunter working the body and head with strikes.

Hunter decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hunter shoots in and drives through. Ax sprawls well.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ax!

Hunter gets caught flat footed, as Ax shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hunter looking for a sweep. Not yet Hunter, not yet.
Ax is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ax accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ax postures up in Hunter's guard and throws a big left but Hunter blocks it.
Ax wants to stand and escape but instead Hunter has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hunter stands and steps away. Ax gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hunter has Ax up against the cage in a clinch.
Ax is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hunter gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ax regains guard.

Hunter is posturing up here but Ax has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hunter tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hunter has to tap! Slick submission there by Ax!
