Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary Bunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Dettman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bunn comes to the cage accompanied by Go to Sleep - Eminem. Dettman has chosen Nazareth - Hair of the Dog as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Bunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bobby Dettman!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Bunn.
Bunn connects with a crisp jab.
Bunn clobbers Dettman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Dettman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dettman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bunn has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bunn misses with the combination.
Dettman on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Dettman misses with a kick to the body

and Bunn counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bunn working away.
Dettman looks to move to half guard but instead Bunn has passed into mount! Damn!
Dettman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bunn landing strikes, looking to finish!


It looks like Bobby Dettman has been cut.
Bunn prevents Dettman from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bunn wants to control the pace but Dettman is squirming around nicely.
Dettman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Bunn is landing with some decent strikes but Dettman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dettman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bunn misses with a head shot.
Dettman suckers Bunn into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Dettman is now in Bunn's guard!
Bunn has a closed guard, preventing Dettman from standing up.

Bunn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dettman has picked Bunn up and slammed him! Bunn can't keep hold of the triangle and Dettman manages to pass to side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Bunn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dettman tries to advance to mount but Bunn denies him.
Bunn is trying to control Dettman's posture but Dettman avoids it.
Bunn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dettman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Bunn is trying to get back to full guard.
Bunn trying to hold on to Dettman's head to control him but Dettman postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bunn trying to control from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
No joy there for Bunn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bunn bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Bunn moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Bunn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dettman on the side of the head.
Dettman feints and then cracks Bunn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bunn down.
Dettman misses the shot to the body.
Bunn tries a low kick but Dettman avoids it.
Dettman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Dettman counters by moving into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dettman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dettman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bunn is leaning against Dettman and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bunn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dettman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dettman tried to score with a low kick but Bunn checks it.
Bunn dives in and grabs Dettman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dettman pushes down on Bunn's head and hops out.
Bunn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dettman defending well as Bunn loads up on a big left hand.
Jab by Bunn.
Bunn cracks Dettman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bunn lands a leg kick that knocks Dettman off balance momentarily.
A slow jab from Dettman misses its intended target.
Bunn is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bunn missing with a left hand there. Dettman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bunn throws a half hearted mid kick.
Bunn swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dettman doesn't manage to clinch there - Bunn circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Bunn dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bobby Dettman's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Dettman fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bunn is out of range.
Bunn throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Dettman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dettman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Dettman lands an elbow inside.
Bunn is trying to stall.
Dettman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bunn backwards.

Bunn pulls Dettman into guard.

Bunn has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Dettman doesn't defend quickly enough and Bunn has managed to lock this one up! Can Dettman escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bunn on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gary Bunn!
Post fight, Gary Bunn stared into the camera and said 'Otso Jokinen should be happy Sean McDonnel refused to fight for NFC all those yrs or none of you would even know his name!
