Douglas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is La La La - Snoop Lion. Ashantie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Congo Ashanti. Dustin Douglas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Congo Ashantie's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashantie misses with a lunging right hand
and Douglas counters with a nice body kick.
Douglas lands an overhand right.

It looks like Congo Ashantie has been cut.
Ashantie throws a combination. Douglas tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ashantie shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ashantie tries to land a leg kick but Douglas saw it coming and moves away.
Douglas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ashantie lands a really nice looking cross but Douglas seems unphased.
Douglas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Douglas has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Original Nemesis Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Douglas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ashantie's head backwards.

Ashantie instigates a clinch.
Ashantie misses with a hook to the ribs.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Douglas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Douglas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ashantie on the side of the head.
Ashantie throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ashantie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Douglas scores with a hook to the body. Ashantie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Douglas throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Douglas lands with an overhand left.
Ashantie misses with the combination.
Douglas throws a hook to the side of Ashantie's head but Ashantie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ashantie takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Douglas connects with an inside leg kick.
Douglas fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Douglas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ashantie's coach down at Kebab House was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ashantie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Douglas moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Douglas lands a big head kick that sends Ashantie tumbling to the mat! Douglas takes a step backwards and waves Ashantie back to his feet - he wants the finish!

A solid leg kick lands there for Douglas.

Douglas throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Ashantie seems to have recovered his senses.
Douglas takes a swing at Ashantie's ribcage but misses.
Douglas connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Ashantie covering up! Douglas comes in with a big uppercut and Ashantie goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
