Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lazarus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Enter Sandman - Metallica as his entrance music. Elliot Saunders had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Elliot Saunders had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lazarus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Saunders.
Saunders is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Jones feints a jab promting Saunders to slip. Jones then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Saunders slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Elliot Saunders has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.

Saunders lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saunders is on top in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Saunders thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Saunders.
Saunders bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Saunders's head but Saunders sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Saunders with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jones to score with a decent uppercut.

Jones feints and then cracks Saunders's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Saunders down.
Saunders throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jones stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Saunders is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Saunders shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We've been hearing that Saunders has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Saunders scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.

Jones takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Saunders seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Saunders is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jones is hurt! He's hurt bad - Saunders fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jones from any more punishment! Congratulations to Saunders! Great finish!
