Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsden comes to the cage accompanied by Shot to the Double Glock by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandon Marsden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 19 - 2, fighting out of London, Anton Walter!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsden misses with a takedown attempt - Walter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Marsden misses with a wild body shot.
Walter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Marsden clinches up against the cage.
Walter is trying to pull guard but Marsden turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Marsden tries to circle away but Walter has him pinned against the cage.
Marsden lands a left hand.
Marsden goes for a takedown in the clinch but Walter prevents it.
Walter tries to land knees in the clinch but Marsden avoids the damage to the body.
Marsden is trying to force a seperation but Walter has the dominant position.
Marsden lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Walter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Walter wants to clinch up but Marsden keeps it at a distance.

We've been hearing reports that Marsden has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Walter moves in looking to clinch but Marsden pushes him off.
Marsden throws a looping overhand right but Walter ducks down to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marsden. Walter does a little dance to reset his feet.

Walter tries to close the distance and clinch but Marsden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marsden throws a right and a left that Walter avoids nicely.
Marsden throws a hook but Walter blocks it.
Horrible takedown by Marsden or perhaps it was just good defense by Walter which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Marsden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walter throws a combination. Marsden tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Marsden connects with a nice looking jab.
Marsden throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Walter on the side of the head.

Walter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Walter showed some decent athleticism there.

Walter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marsden is proving hard to escape from.

Marsden makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marsden.
Walter wants to control from the top but Marsden keeps moving.

Walter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marsden manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Walter has Marsden in his guard.

Walter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marsden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marsden drops back looking for a leg! Walter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walter manages to kick Marsden off! Marsden jumps back into Walter's guard.
Marsden is looking to work some ground and pound but Walter has wrist control.

Walter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Walter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marsden is aware though and is defending well.
Walter told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Marsden stands and throws Walter's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brandon Marsden will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Walter tries to keep at a distance but Marsden has taken the fight into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marsden is landing with strikes. Walter can't take much more of this.
Marsden lands with a hammerfist to the side of Walter's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marsden scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Walter is looking for a way out.
Walter rolls, trying to escape but Marsden keeps control of the position.

Marsden is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
You can see the frustration on Walter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Marsden lands a shot to the head.
Marsden is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Marsden gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Marsden gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Marsden apologises and we restart here on the feet.


Walter is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Walter doesn't manage to clinch there - Marsden circles away.
Walter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Marsden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Walter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marsden moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Walter throws a series of strikes that have Marsden backpedaling.
The fighters circling - Marsden throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Marsden shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Walter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Walter holds on and takes a little breather.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brandon Marsden showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marsden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
