Burns kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Disturbed - Down with the Sickness. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter dives in and grabs Burns's left leg, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes down on Carter's head and hops out.
Brian Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Carter.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
Brian Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Avery Carter.

Burns fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carter sprawls well initially but Burns persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Burns is looking for a kimura here.
Carter tries to roll over but Burns keeps him under control.
Burns wants to control but Carter is keeping him busy.
Burns moves into full mount! Carter won't be happy about that!

Burns working for a guillotine from mount but Carter is in no mood to give up.
Burns has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Burns is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Carter is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Carter flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Burns anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Carter and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Burns slips an arm under Carter chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Burns has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Burns is squeezing on Carter like an anaconda would it's prey. Carter fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
