The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bondevik throws a leg kick that is checked
and Richards counters with a slapping leg kick.
Richards moves out of range of the body kick from Bondevik.
Bondevik throws a sloppy head kick and Richards moves out of range easily.
Richards lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bondevik sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Richards decides to stand and escape the position.
Bondevik throws a leg kick that is checked
and Richards counters with a three punch combo that has Bondevik backing up. Bondevik nods at Richards to acknowledge the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bondevik is looking to control Richards's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bondevik avoid being mounted?

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bondevik sees it coming and defends easily.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Richards. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Richards is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bondevik is just riding it out for now. Richards eventually gives up the hold.
